2007 ATLANTIC 10 MEN'S BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP
Post-Game Quotes
Game 8

GEORGE WASHINGTON

Head Coach Karl Hobbs

First and foremost I want to give a lot of credit to Saint Joseph's and their basketball team. We have a great deal of respect for Coach Martelli and his guys and the one thing we knew coming into this game was we needed to rebound the basketball and, two, if you look at the last four years in this league Saint Joseph's has always been one or two in every statistical category.

I feel that Saint Joseph's played an emotional game yesterday that went down to the wire and I think that may explain to some degree why they shot the way they shot from three-point land. We created the tempo which is what we wanted to do and forced them to play a must faster pace and tempo and then slowed them down with our zone defense in an effort to waste time when we had the lead.

I think a large part of there shooting had a lot to do with yesterday's game. We were focused for 40 minutes and when Saint Joseph's made their run we were able to keep our focus and stay poised, we were able to get stops and were able to run our offense and I would like to think this team is starting to mature a little bit.

GW junior Maureece Rice

This is our third time playing Saint Joe's and a lot of the guys on their team I work out with in the summer so we knew it was going to be a dog fight and we would have to work hard and like coach said we would have to rebound first to come out with the victory.
