WASHINGTON (AP) -Carl Elliott scored 19 of his career-high 29 points in the first half and George Washington coasted to a 94-49 victory over Dartmouth on Tuesday night.
The Colonials made 10 of their first 12 shots and took a 22-7 lead on Elliott's flashy layup less than eight minutes into the game.
George Washington (2-0) finished with 19 steals and 37 points off the Big Green's 24 turnovers as the Colonials improved to 28-4 in home-openers at Charles E. Smith Athletic Center.
Jason Meyer led Dartmouth (0-2) with 11 points.
Dokun Akingbade had 10 rebounds.
Elliott, who shot 10 for 14 from the field with five assists, extended GW's lead to 33-10 on a three-point play with 7:15 remaining in the first half. His 3-pointer gave the Colonials a 31-point lead late in the period.
Wilmore's 3-pointer at the buzzer gave George Washington a 52-18 halftime lead. Elliott's two free throws gave the Colonials a 40-point lead late in the second half.
Following a 98-61 loss at Massachusetts in their season-opener, Dartmouth dropped its second straight game to an Atlantic 10 opponent in its first visit to George Washington.
