WASHINGTON (AP) -- Rob Diggs scored 13 of his 20 points in the second half and had 12 rebounds to help George Washington beat Boston University 69-56 Wednesday night.
The Colonials (2-0) won their ninth straight against the Terriers (1-1), who got 14 points from Corey Lowe and 13 from Carlos Strong.
George Washington forced 20 turnovers and held BU to 38 percent shooting in the first half. The Colonials had nine steals and 14 assists on 20 field goals.
George Washington put the game away early, taking the lead for good at 22-20 with a 3-pointer by Noel Wilmore with 7:59 left in the first half, then closing the half on a 17-6 run. Wynton Witherspoon scored seven straight points during the stretch.
The Colonials continued their dominance after halftime, running their lead as high as 18 points. The Terriers got no closer than nine.
