Post-Game Quotes
GW Coach Karl Hobbs
Opening statement
"I thought we had some good moments, and some that weren't so good. But overall, our effort was very good throughout the course of the game. We played very hard, we played with a lot of intensity on defense. BU came out shooting the ball. They were really prepared to take on our pressure, and they handled it well. The last time someone handled our pressure that well, we lost by 50 to Vanderbilt. Fortunately, we were able to really defend and play good defense tonight."
How has Rob Diggs' extra muscle mass helped his play?
"He's able to finish plays and is a lot more explosive. A few times he got hit, and was able to get the and-1. Last year, the minute he gets hit, he gets thrown off his shot. It's helped him the most defensively. He's able to physically get around guys and box out. But we have to find a way to limit his minutes. We can't have him playing that many minutes when we go against the bigger, stronger teams."
On Xavier Alexander's role on the team.
"Obviously, it's expanding by the minute because of his ability to play defense. He comes from a good high school program and was well-coached. Physically, he's ready to play college basketball, and that's his biggest asset."
When the 2nd half of this game was in doubt, do you think you could win with Maureece Rice scoring only 3 points?
"I think we can win games when he's not playing well, but I'm not so sure we can win a lot of them."
On Noel Wilmore's contribution off the bench.
"He's flying under the radar. He's worked extremely hard to work himself into the rotation. And he's hit a lot of big shots. He hit one in transition today. I want him to get more rebounds, but I like his effort. He's a third-year guy who has improved a lot."

"This is the kind of team that could use some time off, especially Rob Diggs, who's logged a lot of playing time. It gives us a chance to sharpen up our offense...We have to utilize this time very wisely. I'm concerned that we might lose our fluidity, but it's a good thing for this team."
GW junior F Rob Diggs
Has adding weight helped your game?
"It has. I'm able to hold my position better and block a lot more. I don't get pushed around as much. I can just hang with the big boys."
What is your role on the team as a junior?
"I have to be a leader, and keep the team motivated. I've got to keep them energetic in practice and hungry. If I see them goofing around, I'm the one who has to say, `C'mon, let's get it together,' and `Let's make our free throws.' Because some time, the game's gong to be on the line and we'll need them."
Does the extra weight make you feel more comfortable playing 37 minutes a game?
"It makes it a lot more comfortable. I'm able to stay in there and just bang with them...I feel a lot more confident [because] every time I touch the ball, I'm trying to score. I'm going to just keep going, no matter who they put on me."
Boston University Coach Dennis Wolff
Opening Statement
"The two concerns I had coming in here was their offensive rebounding and us turning the ball over. I like my team, and I think we have a better team than the way we played tonight. This was a good game for us, and we have a lot of stuff to work on."
"The problem [GW] creates for us, and they've created it for us in the past, is because they have a lot of like-sized guys, they are able to switch out on us and cause a lot of problems."
How much has Rob Diggs improved from last year?
"I thought he was a good player last year. He looks stronger, like he's spent a lot of time in the weight room. I like him."
