WASHINGTON (AP)- Ricky Lucas scored seven of his 11 points during a 17-2 second-half run that helped George Washington to a 73-57 win over William & Mary on Saturday night in the championship game of the Red Auerbach Colonial Classic.
After giving up 11 of the game's first 15 points to Adam Hess, who staked William & Mary (2-2) to an early 13-2 lead, the Colonials stopped giving up the open shots on the perimeter that had put them behind.
Hess scored just two of his 14 in the second half.
Hall, who also finished with 13 rebounds, had the fifth double-double of his career secured by halftime and he controlled the inside while George Washington went on a 14-4 run to take their first lead of the game.
The Colonials made their decisive run after the Tribe made it a three-point game early with 15:54 to play in the game.
Lucas sparked the run with a jumper, two free throws and a 3-pointer with
13:00 remaining that gave the Colonials a 51-39 lead.
