WASHINGTON (AP)- Pops Mensah-Bonsu led a balanced George Washington attack with 24 points, and the Colonials outlasted Boakai Lalugba and Bucknell for an 80-to-77 victory in the Red Auerbach Colonial Classic championship game.

George Washington now has won all nine of these tournaments, which the school always hosts.

Mike Hall had 16 points and 13 rebounds. T.J. Thompson had 12 points and 10 assists as five Colonials scored in double figures.

Lalugba scored a game-high 34 points and added 13 rebounds, making numerous big plays to carry Bucknell throughout the game. He went 14-for-20 from the field and made shots from all over the court.

But the 6-foot-6 forward made only five of 12 free throws and missed a potential game-tying jumper with two seconds remaining.

Bucknell led for long stretches, especially in the first half when it hit nine of 11 three-pointers en route to a 46-40 halftime lead. But the Bison missed all seven three-pointers in the second half as George Washington slowly took command.
