11th Annual BB&T Classic
Monday, December 05, 2005
MCI Center - Washington, D.C.

GW Head Coach Karl Hobbs on Mike Hall
"I just hope the guy can stand up tomorrow."

"I think Maureece Rice and Carl Elliott deserve a medal. We had one guy with blood on the floor. We had a guy that got stitched up at halftime. Those guys showed a terrific amount of courage."

"We're trying to be D.C.'s college basketball team. If you live in the District, we want to be your team."

GW senior F Mike Hall
"After seeing Carl [Elliott] go down and come back like a warrior and hearing the fans and the band and the chants going back and forth, I couldn't be tired."

Maryland Head Coach Gary Williams

On George Washington's play:
They are on par certainly with some of the teams we've faced so far like Gonzaga, and they proved that last year. This is the first tough game for them and they did a good job.

On preparation for tonight's game:
We tried to do the same thing we did for Minnesota, Gonzaga and Arkansas. You get ready to do what they do and try to duplicate that in practice. Hopefully you do a good job and get through to your players, but I feel like I didn't do a good job of preparing them to play this game.
