GW Men's Hoops' Kethan Savage Out Several Weeks With Foot Fracture
Jan. 21, 2014
WASHINGTON - George Washington men's basketball sophomore guard Kethan Savage is expected to miss 6-to-8 weeks with a fractured metatarsal in his left foot.
Reevaluation of the injury upon returning to campus after Saturday's game at St. Bonaventure revealed Savage sustained a fracture to the fifth metatarsal in his left foot.
"It's disappointing for Kethan to have this happen in the middle of his breakout sophomore season, but as a team we've dealt with injuries before and have emerged stronger as a unit," said Head Coach Mike Lonergan. "We'll look forward to his return to action, but I have every bit of confidence that we'll overcome Kethan's absence. In the meantime, this is a great opportunity for all his teammates to step up at this time. That is a mark of a great team. We are all very excited for the rest of the season ahead."
GW (15-3, 3-1 A-10) returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 25 at George Mason (7-11, 0-4 A-10) in the first of two Revolutionary Rivalry games between the teams this season. The contest will be televised nationally on NBC Sports Network at 12 p.m.
