Wednesday's Game: GW (5-8, 1-2) aims to snap a six-game road losing skid Wednesday night against Rhode Island. The last time these teams met, it was for the A-10 title in Atlantic City where GW prevailed, 78-69, to claim its second crown in three years.

• Both teams have identical 1-2 conference records with Saint Louis as the only common opponent. GW defeated SLU at home (49-20) while URI fell to the Billikens (68-61) in St. Louis.

• GW is coming off a hard-fought 74-66 loss to No. 20/20 Xavier in a game that was closer than the final score indicates. The Colonials trailed by one point (67-66) with 1:09 remaining before the Musketeers converted a pair of FGs and three free throws in the final minute.

• GW has a winning record (2-1) against URI at Ryan Center after winning its last two games there.

• GW is 0-6 on the road this season while Rhode Island is a perfect 8-0 at home.

• Following a 14-1 start, URI has lost two of its last three games (at Dayton, at Saint Louis).

• The Rams are coming off a 68-61 loss at Saint Louis last Thursday dropping them to 1-2 in the league and out of the AP Top 25.

• GW is without starting point guard Travis King, who is sitting out the season with a knee injury.

• GW has won 51 of its last 68 regular-season games and 30 of its last 37 A-10 games.

A Closer Look at Rhode Island: The Rams enters play Wednesday with a 15-3 overall record, 1-2 in the A-10. URI has two players averaging double figure points and four more averaging more than eight points a game. Senior F Will Daniels' 18.9 ppg and Kahiem Seawright's 8.2 rebounds is tied for second in the A-10. Keith Cothran leads the A-10 with 2.2 steals a game and Jimmy Baron has hit 62 three-pointers. Baron is the son of Rams head coach, Jim Baron. For the season, URI is shooting 48.5 percent from the field, averages 82.1 points a game and is outrebounding opponents by nearly three caroms a game. The Rams have lost two of their last three games, both on the road, at Dayton (92-83) and at Saint Louis (68-61). URI assistant coach Kevin Clark was a former GW assistant coach under Mike Jarvis from 1995-98.
