Sunday's Game: GW (5-11, 1-5) faces Temple (10-9, 3-2) Sunday in the first and only meeting this season and the 63rd meeting in the series. GW has won five of the last six meetings.
GW has a 2-3 record against Temple at the Liacouras Center after winning the last two meetings there. Temple is 102-36 (.739) all-time at the 10-year-old Liacouras Center.
GW is 0-8 on the road this season while Temple is 5-2 at home with losses to Villanova (101-93) and Saint Joseph's (68-67).
GW is coming off its fifth straight loss, a close 61-59 decision to Saint Joseph's on Wednesday at Smith Center in a game that came down to the last possession. GW junior F Rob Diggs was spectacular hitting all 10 of his FG attempts en route to a 20-point, 10-rebound double-double with a pair of blocks.
Temple is coming off a 58-50 triumph over Fordham Thursday night in the Bronx. The Owls have won four of their last five with a one-point loss to Saint Joseph's as their only blemish during that span.
GW is without starting point guard Travis King, who is sitting out the season with a knee injury.
GW has won 51 of its last 70 regular-season games and 30 of its last 39 A-10 games.
A Closer Look at Temple: The Owls, under second-year coach Fran Dunphy, enter play Sunday with a 10-9 overall record, 3-2 in the A-10. Temple has two players averaging double figure points led by Dionte Christmas' 20.4 ppg and 6.4 rebounds. Mark Tyndale averages 15.5 points with 66 assists. In Thursday's win at Fordham, the Owls shot 41 percent overall, hit just 3-18 three-pointers but committed just four turnovers. For the season, Temple is shooting 46.1 percent from the field, averages 69.2 points a game but is being outrebounded opponents by two caroms a game. Temple owns a commanding 46-16 lead in the all-time series. GW's 46 losses in the series is by far the most to any A-10 opponent. In the last meeting between the teams, GW's Carl Elliott recorded the only triple-double in GW history.
Next Game: GW returns to Washington to host La Salle on Wednesday, Feb. 6, at 7:30 p.m. EST. The game will be broadcast on FederalNewsRadio.com 1050 AM. Live audio streaming of the game will be available on www.GWsports.com.
