Wednesday's Game: GW (6-12, 0-6) aims to snap a 10-game losing skid Wednesday night against Saint Joseph's (12-8, 5-1) in the first and only meeting this season and the 52nd meeting in the series. GW has won five of the last seven meetings.

• SJU prevailed, 61-59, in the most recent meeting on Jan. 30, 2008 at Smith Center.

• GW is 2-6 on the road this season while Saint Joseph's is 6-3 at the Palestra this season while renovations are being done to Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse. SJU's three losses at the Palestra this season were to Creighton (69-58), Siena (75-74) and Drexel (64-52). The Hawks are 327-154 (.680) all-time at the Palestra.

• Wednesday's contest marks GW's 11th game at the Palestra and SJU's 482nd game in the venerable arena which is home to the University of Pennsylvania.

• GW and SJU have met just once before at the Palestra, in the semifinal round of the 1991 A-10 Tournament, when GW won, 84-82, in overtime.

• GW's last game at The Palestra was March 5, 1995 in the quarterfinal round of the 1995 A-10 Tournament.

• GW is coming off its 10th straight loss, a 76-66 setback to La Salle on Wednesday at Tom Gola Arena. Senior Noel Wilmore scored a team-high 16 points to the lead the Colonials.

• Saint Joseph's has won seven of its last eight games but is coming off a 69-58 loss to Dayton Sunday in Ohio. The Hawks shot 34.6 percent but converted all 18 free throws in their loss to the Flyers to fall to 5-1 in the league. Tasheed Carr led the Hawks with 14 points while Ahmad Nivins was held to 12 points.

A Closer Look at Saint Joseph's: The Hawks enter Wednesday's game with a 12-8 overall record, 5-1 in the A-10. SJU has three players averaging double figure points led by senior F Ahmad Nivins who is averaging a double-double with 19.8 ppg and a league-leading 11.8 rebounding average. Nivins also leads the A-10 in FG% (.663) and minutes played at 39.5 mpg. Darrin Govens and Tasheed Carr both average just over 13 points. A transfer from Iowa State prior to last season, Carr was named the A-10's co-Player of the Week Sunday and his .429 three-pt. FG% is tied for the league lead. For the season, Saint Joseph's is shooting 45 percent from the field, 74 percent from the line and averages 69.4 points a game. The Hawks' loss at Dayton Sunday snapped a seven-game winning streak.
