Wednesday's Game: GW (6-13, 2-7) travels to Saint Louis (13-10, 4-5) Wednesday for the second meeting this season and the fifth meeting in the series. GW has won three of the four meetings in the series including a record-setting 49-20 triumph at Smith Center on Jan. 10 in the A-10 opener for both teams.

• GW, 0-9 on the road this season, is aiming to snap a nine-game road skid.

• Saint Louis is 9-4 (.692) at home this season with A-10 victories over Rhode Island, La Salle and UMass.

• GW is coming off a heart-stopping 57-54 win over Dayton Saturday at Smith Center to snap a seven-game losing slide, its longest in six years.

• Saint Louis is coming off a 64-55 victory over Richmond Sunday at the Robins Center. The Billikens have lost five of their last nine games following a three-game winning streak.

• GW has held Saint Louis to an average of 30 points a game in the last two meetings and 46.8 ppg in the four-game series.

• GW is without starting point guard Travis King, who is sitting out the season with a knee injury.

• GW has won 52 of its last 74 regular-season games and 30 of its last 42 A-10 games.

A Closer Look at Saint Louis: The Billikens enter play Wednesday with a xx record under first-year coach Rick Majerus. Majerus is in his 21st season as a head coach and Saint Louis is his fourth stop. He came to SLU after spending 15 seasons (1989-04) at Utah where he led the Utes to 10 NCAA Tournament appearances including 1998 when they advanced to the national final before losing to Kentucky. This marks SLU's final season at the Scottrade Center in downtown St. Louis before moving into their new on-campus arena next season. Saint Louis has two players averaging double figure points, led by junior G Kevin Lisch's 14.3 ppg. Junior G Tommie Liddell (11.6 ppg) and senior F/G Luke Meyer (5.2 rpg) are the other leading Billikens. For the season, SLU is shooting 46.2 percent from the field, averages 59.8 points a game and is outrebounding its opponents by less than a carom a game. SLU leads the A-10 in scoring defense allowing just 57.9 points and opponents are shooting 43 percent from the floor. Four of SLU's probable starters are left-handed.

Record Lows Hit Smith Center: GW put forth an historic defensive effort in defeating Saint Louis, 49-20, on Jan. 10. GW held the Billikens to the lowest point total in a Div. I game since the inception of the shot clock in 1985. The 20 total points, and the seven first-half points, were both Smith Center records for fewest points by an opponent in the 33-year-old building. The game's lows shattered the previous Smith Center records for fewest points in a game by an opponent (34 by Dickinson on 12-5-78) and fewest points in a half by an opponent (14 also by Dickinson in the same 1978 game)--SLU's seven first-half points and 13 second-half points both eclipsed the previous record. GW held the Billikens to just 14.6 percent (7-48) shooting from the field and 5.3 percent (1-19) from three-point range. GW's defense combined to block 11 SLU shots, five by Rob Diggs, and forced 14 Billiken turnovers while committing a season-low 8 turnovers. Other records set in the game: GW's three free throws attempted also equaled the Smith Center record for fewest FTs by the Colonials (3 vs. Randolph Macon on 11-27-84). The combined 21 personal fouls also broke the Smith Center record for fewest two-team combined personal fouls (24 GW vs. Duquesne on 12-12-81).

Next Game: GW concludes its two-game road trip at St. Bonaventure on Saturday, Feb. 16, at 7:00 p.m. (EST). The GW-SBU game, which follows the GW-SBU women's game, will be broadcast on FederalNewsRadio.com 1050 AM. Live audio streaming of the game will be available on www.GWsports.com.
