Tonight's Game: GW faces Saint Joseph's tonight in the second meeting this season and the 49th meeting in the series. GW defeated the Hawks, 74-65, on Jan. 24 in Washington. SJU is 8-3 at home this season while GW is 4-4 on the road.

• Tonight marks GW's fourth road game in its last five outings.

• GW is coming off a 87-56 loss to Xavier last Saturday at home. Carl Elliott and Maureece Rice led the Colonials with 13 and 12 points, respectively. The loss broke GW's 24-game home winning streak--fifth-longest in the nation. (GW's previous loss at Smith Center was to Saint Joseph's on March 1, 2005).

• GW enters tonight's game on a three-game skid after setbacks at Dayton, at SLU and at home to Xavier. It marks GW's first three-game losing streak in more than three years (since Jan. 3, 2004 when the Colonials dropped four straight games, the last of which occurred at Hawk Hill to then-10th-ranked Saint Joseph's).

• The Colonials have won 22 of their last 26 A-10 games.

• GW also has won 41 of its last 49 regular-season games.

• Saint Joseph's (14-10, 6-4) is coming off a 72-50 victory over La Salle Saturday at the Palestra. Senior F Pat Calathes scored 16 points, including a pair of free throws, to convert his 35th consecutive free throw, two shy of tying the school record. SJU shot 50 percent (25-50) for the game, including 9-19 (47.4%) from three-point range.

A Closer Look at Saint Joseph's: The Hawks are led by 6-9 sophomore F Ahmad Nivins' 16.4 ppg, 7.4 rpg, .624 FG pct. Other Hawks averaging double figures are 6-10 junior G/F Pat Calathes (13.6 ppg, 34 threes, 84 assists) and 6-8 junior F Rob Ferguson (11.9 ppg, 34 threes). SJU leads the league in rebounding defense (29.5) and second in scoring defense allowing just 63.3 points a game. The Hawks also defend the perimeter well allowing opponents to hit just 34 percent of their 3-pt. attempts (3rd in A-10). SJU is 8-3 at home this season with victories over Bucknell, Xavier, Dayton, Charlotte and Temple. Common opponents include BU (twice), Charlotte, Xavier, Dayton, URI, SLU and Fordham against which SJU went 5-3 while GW posted a 4-3 mark. SJU is 313-79 (.798) in 58 seasons at Alumni Memorial FH.

Next Game: GW returns to Smith Center Saturday, Feb. 17, for its first look at Temple at 2 p.m. The game is sold out and will not be televised but will air live in the Washington area on Washington Post Radio 107.7 FM, 1500 AM and on www.GWsports.com. The game also will be available via live video streaming on GW All Access at GWsports.com.
