Today's Game: GW hosts long-time A-10 nemesis Temple Saturday in the only meeting this season and the 62nd meeting in the series. GW is 9-1 at home this season while Temple is 3-8 on the road. Tonight marks Temple's first visit to Smith Center in more than three years (since Jan. 7, 2004).
GW is coming off a 62-56 loss to Saint Joseph's Wednesday in Philadelphia. Philly native Maureece Rice and freshman Damian Hollis led the Colonials with 14 points each.
GW enters today's game on a four-game skid after setbacks at Dayton, at SLU and at home to Xavier and at Saint Joseph's. It marks GW's first four-game losing streak in more than three years (since Jan. 3, 2004 when the Colonials also dropped four straight games, the last of which occurred in Philadelphia to Jameer Nelson and then-10th-ranked Saint Joseph's).

Temple owns a commanding 46-15 lead in the all-time series. GW's 46 losses in the series is by far the most to any A-10 opponent. GW split with Temple last season including an upset loss in the quarterfinal round of the 2006 Atlantic 10 Tournament at Cincinnati's U.S Bank Arena.
Temple (11-13, 5-6) is coming off a 77-72 loss to La Salle Wednesday at Tom Gola Arena, ending the Owls' four-game winning streak. Junior G Mark Tyndale scored 27 points with 10 rebounds and five assists to pace the Owls. The Owls shot 43.3 percent (29-67) for the game, that included just 6-28 (21.4%) from three-point range.
A Closer Look at Temple: The Owls, under first-year coach Fran Dunphy, have shown signs of hitting their stride by winning four their last five after a 7-12 start to the season. Temple has four players averaging double figures led by 6-5 sophomore G Dionte Christmas' league-leading 21.7 ppg (75 threes) and 6-5 junior G Mark Tyndale's 17.6 ppg and 6.7 rpg (51 FG%). Five different Owls have more than 50 assists on the season led by Chris Clark's 62. Temple's 17-3 record at Smith Center is by far the best of any GW opponent although GW won the last meeting here in 2004. Temple leads the league in assist/turnover ratio (1.20), just ahead of the Colonials (1.09). The Owls are second in the A-10 in three-pointers made per game sinking more than eight treys a game.
Next Game: GW hosts Richmond Wednesday, Feb. 21, at 7:30 p.m. at Smith Center in a rematch of the Jan. 17 game won by GW, 63-58. The game will not be televised but will air live in the Washington area on Washington Post Radio 107.7 FM, 1500 AM and on GWsports.com. The game also will be available via live video streaming (click the Audio Video link at GWsports.com).
