Today's Game: GW hosts Duquesne Saturday in the regular-season finale, the first meeting with the Dukes this season, and the 65th meeting in the series. GW last faced the Dukes on Jan. 25, 2006 in Pittsburgh. The Colonials won that game, 94-78, and have won the last five meetings.

• Today's game will be preceeded by `Senior Day' ceremonies honoring GW's three seniors (Carl Elliott, Dokun Akingbade and Regis Koundjia) making their final Smith Center appearances. For Elliott, it marks his 52nd game at Smith Center.

• GW is 10-1 at home this season while Duquesne is 5-8 on the road.

• A GW victory today would all but secure the 3rd or 4th seed--and first-round bye--in the A-10 Tournament. (losses by GW & Fordham combined with a Saint Joseph's win over UMass would knock GW to the 5th seed)

• GW is coming off a tense 62-60 victory at Charlotte Thursday in North Carolina. It was GW's fourth straight win following a four-game losing skid. Carl Elliott (14 pts., 9 rebs., 8 assts.) hit the game-winning jumper with 18 seconds left. GW converted 42.6 percent (23-54) from the field and dominated the glass, 36-28, for the fourth straight game.

• GW has won 26 of its last 31 A-10 games and 45 of its last 54 regular-season games.

• Duquesne (10-17, 6-9) is coming off a 87-74 loss to Akron last Monday at home. Junior F Kieron Achara led five Dukes in double figures with 18 points. Duquesne shot 39.4 percent (28-71) for the game, including 9-22 (40.9%) from three-point range.

A Closer Look at Duquesne: This is not your father's Duquesne. The Dukes, who were shaken by preseason campus shootings that affected five players, has shown tremendous resilience under first-year coach Ron Everhart by winning 10 games, including six in the league, more than each of the past two seasons. Kieron Achara is the only current Duke who has set foot inside GW's Smith Center. Five-time A-10 Rookie of the Week Robert Mitchell leads the Dukes with 16.1 ppg (9th in the A-10) and has knocked down 38 threes. Duquesne leads the league in scoring at 78.3 points per game and in FT percentage at .754. The Dukes are second in the A-10 in both assists (16.11) and three-pointers per game (8.19).

Next Game: As a likely 3 or 4 seed in the A-10 Tournament (depending on the outcome of today's games), GW will have earned a first-round bye and will play Thursday at either 2:30 or 9 p.m. at Atlantic City's Boardwalk Hall. The game will be televised by CSTV Networks and will be broadcast in the Washington area on Washington Post Radio 107.7 FM, 1500 AM and on www.GWsports.com.
