Thursday's Quarterfinal Game: In a city that has played host to many Miss Americas, GW begins its pursuit of a second A-10 Tournament championship in three years and it won't be a beauty pageant. The Colonials roll into the A-10 Tournament on a five-game winning streak and have won at least 20 games for the third straight season.

• This marks the fourth straight year GW has earned a first-round bye in the A-10 tournament.

• GW split its season series with Saint Joseph's and defeated Temple, 84-72, in the only meeting this season. GW last faced the Hawks on Feb. 14 in Philadelphia where GW lost a tightly-played contest, 62-56. The Colonials won the Jan. 24 game in Washington, 74-65.

• GW secured the 3rd seed after defeating Duquesne, 88-80, Saturday at Smith Center on Senior Day for GW's three seniors (Carl Elliott, Dokun Akingbade and Regis Koundjia).

• GW's victory over Duquesne was its fifth straight win following a four-game losing skid. Damian Hollis (18 pts., 12 rebs.) recorded his first career double-double with career highs in both points and rebounds and was named A-10 Rookie of the Week for the second time in three weeks. GW converted 47.6 percent (30-63) from the field and outrebounded the opposition, 44-39, for the fifth straight game.

• GW has won 27 of its last 32 A-10 games and 46 of its last 55 regular-season games.

• Saint Joseph's enters the A-10 Tournament having lost its last three games after defeating Temple, 92-76, on Feb. 22.

• Temple comes to Atlantic City having lost its last two games and was swept by Saint Joseph's this season. Temple is 0-1 at Boardwalk Hall this season after a Dec. 9 loss to Cincinnati.

GW's History in the A-10 Tournament: GW has an all-time record of 19-29 (.396) in the A-10 Tournament. The Colonials won their first championship in 2005 and have advanced to the championship final in two other years: in 1991 during former coach Mike Jarvis's first year at GW when the Colonials lost at Penn State, and in 1998--Jarvis's last year at GW--when GW fell to Xavier. GW has reached the semifinal round eight times including six of the last 11 tournaments.

Next Game: The winner of tonight's quarterfinal game advances to the semifinal round to play the winner of the Saint Louis-Duquesne/UMass quarterfinal at 9:05 pm Friday. The GW games will be televised by CN8 and will be broadcast in the Washington area on Washington Post Radio 107.7 FM, 1500 AM and on www.GWsports.com.
