April 28, 2014
WASHINGTON - Coach Mike Lonergan's fourth annual George Washington University Basketball Camp will be held at the Charles E. Smith Center on the GW campus from June 23-27, 2014.
GW basketball had a banner year in 2013-14. The Colonials had impressive wins against Creighton, Georgia, Maryland, Massachusetts, Miami, VCU and others on their way to the second-most wins in program history, a game in the semifinals of the Atlantic 10 Championship and a trip to the NCAA Tournament. With all the excitement going on at GW, you can be part of the action as a 2014 camper.
Run and instructed by GW men's basketball Head Coach Mike Lonergan, his Colonials' coaching staff and current and former college basketball players, the GW Basketball Camp will be filled with excellent instruction from some of the finest teachers of the game. It is a teaching camp that emphasizes the fundamentals of the game, complementing continuous instruction of fundamentals with competitive games among other campers of similar skill and age. There will also be daily contests in Hot Shot, Free Throws, One on One, Knock Out and more!
Last but not least, the GW Basketball Camp will be FUN! The atmosphere on GW's campus is one that will fulfill the two ultimate goals of the week: 1) to learn the game, and 2) to leave camp on June 27 loving basketball more than you did on the first day.
The camp is open to all boys and girls ages 8-to-17 (limited only by number, age, and grade level) and will run from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. each day. Arrivals as early as 8 a.m., and pickups as late as 5 p.m., can be accommodated.
Cost of the camp is $250, with a $50 discount for children of GW faculty and staff. There is also a team discount of $25 per person with three-or-more campers from the same team.
