WASHINGTON, DC -- George Washington basketball standout Damian Hollis participated in a pre-draft workout for the NBA's Washington Wizards Thursday morning. The work-out took place from 9:30 a.m.-11:00 a.m. on the Wizards' practice court at Verizon Center.

"I thought I did pretty well but maybe could've done better," Hollis said afterward. "Coach [Flip] Saunders had us do some shooting drills as well as some one-on-one, two-on-two and even three-on-three drills. We worked on different plays and spent a lot of time on the pick-and-roll. He [Saunders] was very hands-on and really into it. Sam Cassell talked to me about conditioning and what he did to get ready for the NBA. He said rigorous running was important and that his regimen consisted of long runs of about two miles followed by 100- and 50-yard sprints. I'll take what they taught me today and learn from it."

Hollis was one of six players taking part in Thursday's work-outs. Others invited were: Dominique Jones, G, South Florida; Landon Milbourne, F, Maryland; Hamady N'Diaye, C, Rutgers; Omar Samhan, C, St. Mary's; and Donald Sloan, G, Texas A&M.

A native of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Hollis concluded his college career ranks 28th on GW's career scoring list with 1,196 points. The 6-8 forward played in 116 GW games, starting 84 and his 81.8 career free-throw percentage ranks among the highest in GW history. This past season, he was named the team's MVP and scored his career-high 30 points in his final game against VCU in a CBI Tournament first-round contest on Mar. 16 at Smith Center.
