GW Men's Hoops Alum Armwood Works Out for NBA's Denver Nuggets
Forward Takes Part in Second Pre-Draft NBA Workout
June 16, 2014
WASHINGTON - George Washington men's basketball alumnus Isaiah Armwood ('14) worked out for the NBA's Denver Nuggets on Monday, June 16, as part of the franchise's pre-draft prospect workouts.
Armwood was joined by five other draft hopefuls in Davion Berry (Weber State), Roscoe Smith (UNLV), Chris Udofia (Denver), Trevor Wages (Colorado School of Mines) and Scottie Wilbekin (Florida). The Nuggets hold the 11th overall pick in the June 26 NBA Draft, as well as the 41st and 56th selections.
It marked Armwood's second pre-draft workout - he also attended a session with the Sacramento Kings in early May - since completing his final season at GW in 2013-14, when he captained the Colonials to the second-most wins in program history (24) and the program's 11th all-time NCAA Tournament appearance.
Armwood capped his career as a Colonial with Second Team All-Atlantic 10 and A-10 All-Defensive Team honors, leading the team in rebounding (8.4 rpg), blocks (1.5 bpg) and minutes (32.0 mpg) and ranking second on the team in scoring (12.7 ppg).
Despite playing just 63 games in his two seasons at GW from 2012-14, Armwood is one of only two players in program history to amass at least 500 points (778), 500 rebounds (539), 100 blocks (119), 100 assists (102) and 50 steals (54).
