George Washington men's basketball will open its 2012-13 campaign against Youngstown State at the Charles E. Smith Center on Saturday, Nov. 10.
The meeting will be the first between the Colonials and Penguins, who posted a 16-15 overall record and 10-8 mark in the Horizon League in 2011-12.
Led by longtime head coach Jerry Slocum, Youngstown State is slated to return three starters and its top three scorers - guards Kendrick Perry (16.8 ppg) and Blake Allen (12.8 ppg), and forward Damian Eargle (11.1 ppg).
GW posted a 64-48 victory over UMES in front of a season-high 3,369 fans in its season opener at Smith Center last November. The victory improved the Colonials to 69-29 all-time in season-openers and marked their sixth win in a season debut in the past seven seasons.
