Be sure to check back to GWsports.com each day until July 15 as a new men's basketball non-conference opponent and game date is announced.
The George Washington men's basketball team will return to the Charles E. Smith Center on Saturday, Nov. 24 to host the Hofstra Pride for its fourth non-conference game of the 2012-13 season.
The contest will be the second-ever between the Colonials and Pride. GW dropped an 82-67 decision to Hofstra, then nicknamed the Flying Dutchmen, at the Juice Bowl Tournament in Lakeland, Fla., during the 1982-83 season.
Hofstra went 10-22 overall and 3-15 in the Colonial Athletic Association during its second year under head coach Mo Cassara in 2011-12. Cassara led the Pride to 21 victories, a second-place finish in the CAA and an appearance in the postseason College Basketball Invitational (CBI) in his debut season in 2010-11.
The Pride will have to replace its top two leading scorers from 2011-12 with the loss of Mike Moore (19.9 ppg) and Nathaniel Lester (14.6 ppg). Coach Cassara has added six newcomers to a roster of eight returners, highlighted by transfer Jamal Coombs-McDaniel, who played in all 41 of Connecticut's games during its run to the 2011 NCAA National Championship, averaging 5.6 points and 2.7 rebounds.
After checking in and watching Coach Lonergan's daily game breakdown, fans can visit Facebook.com/GWsports and answer a trivia question for a chance to be entered in a grand prize giveaway at the conclusion of the non-conference schedule announcements. Prizes include an annual subscription to GW All-Access, two Colonials Club passes for the men's basketball team's home opener, or men's basketball endzone season tickets.
