Raise High With Coach Lonergan and Five Returning Starters for 16 Home Games in 2013-14
July 8, 2013
Join George Washington men's basketball as it celebrates its 100th season of competition in 2013-14 by becoming a season ticket holder today. The Colonials will play 16 contests on the newly renovated hardwood inside the Charles E. Smith Center as part of a challenging and exciting 30-game slate during their landmark 100th campaign.
Season tickets for the 2013-14 GW men's basketball season will include the Nov. 2 exhibition game against Bowie State plus all 15 regular-season home contests at the Smith Center, highlighted by seven non-conference foes including Rutgers on Dec. 4 and Georgia on Jan. 3, and eight Atlantic 10 rivals including George Mason, VCU, La Salle, Massachusetts and Saint Joseph's.
Several season ticket packages will also include tickets to GW's clash against Maryland in the 19th annual BB&T Classic at the Verizon Center on Dec. 8.
New this season and as a thank you to the Class of 2013 for their role growing the excitement and pride for GW Athletics, 2012-13 Student Association President Ashwin Narla and 2012-13 Colonial Army President Trevor Rockhill successfully arranged for complimentary season tickets for the Class of 2013.
"We're really excited for the 100th season of GW men's basketball with the return of all five of last year's starters and eight letterwinners, along with the addition of great shooters like Maurice Creek, Nick Griffin, Miguel Cartagena and Skyler White," said third-year head coach Mike Lonergan. "With the continued support of our loyal season ticket holders, Colonial Army and Class of 2013 Young Alumni, and an influx of new fans to Raise High the Buff and Blue, we can make this banner season one to remember in Foggy Bottom."
Season ticket prices remain unchanged from the 2012-13 season, and returning season ticket holders who renew their seats by the August 15 renewal deadline will have their processing fees waived. GW Athletics is also accepting first-time season ticket purchases for locations unused in 2012-13, as well as taking requests for season tickets in seats occupied last season.
GW welcomes starters Isaiah Armwood, Patricio Garino, Joe McDonald, Kevin Larsen and Kethan Savage, along with letterwinners Nemanja Mikic, John Kopriva and Paris Maragkos, back to its 2013-14 lineup for a 30-game schedule in which half its opponents participated in postseason play in 2013.
