Raise High with the Colonials in First Road Game of the 2012-13 Season
Oct. 18, 2012
George Washington alumni in the Boston area will have their chance to Raise High the Buff and Blue with GW men's basketball prior to the Colonials' first road game of the season at Boston University on Nov. 17.
The event, sponsored by the Boston Alumni Club and GW Athletics and Recreation, will begin with a pre-game brunch at 11:00 a.m., in the Faculty Dining Room in the George Sherman Union (775 Commonwealth Avenue), just a short walk from the Terriers' Case Gym (285 Babcock Street). The brunch will feature remarks on the future of GW Athletics with Patrick Nero, director of athletics and recreation. This event is open to the entire GW community including alumni, parents, and friends of GW.
Tickets for the game will be available for pick up at the pre-game reception. Any tickets not picked up at the reception will be available at Will Call starting at 1:00 p.m.
GW sports a 17-2 all-time record against BU dating to the inaugural meeting in 1958, highlighted by a 5-1 mark in a six-year series from 2005-10. Colonials' head coach Mike Lonergan is also familiar with the Terriers as the former Vermont coach won nine of 14 meetings in America East play from 2005-11, including an 83-70 victory in the 2010 AE Championship title game.
