A Closer Look at Boston U.: Boston U. has been picked to win the America East Conference in the preseason coaches' poll. Under first-year coach and former Villanova assistant, Patrick Chambers, BU returns four starters from last year's 17-13 team which included a 63-58 overtime loss to GW. The BU roster includes `07 AEC Rookie of the Year, Tyler Morris who scored a game-high 21 points in BU's season-opening loss at Iona Friday. Preseason all-conference first-teamers Corey Lowe and John Holland combined to score 33 points Friday. The Terriers shot 38.2 percent (21-55) from th field at Iona including 12-28 (42.9%) three pointers. BU also outrebounded the Gaels, 41-37 but turned the ball over 22 times which contributed to the loss. Former Colonials and GW Hall of Famer Matt Zunic (`43) became one of BU's more successful coaches with a seven-year record of 96-58 (.623) from 1952-59. Zunic, who died in Dec., 2006 at age 87, took the Terriers to their first NCAA Tournament appearance in 1959.
