Wednesday's Game: The Colonials (1-0) host Binghamton (1-0) in the home opener.

• GW has won its last 19 straight home openers dating back to the 1989-90 season. The last time GW lost a home opener was on Nov. 26, 1988, to begin the infamous 1-27 season.

• GW has won its last four season openers including Friday night's victory at Boston University. The last time GW lost an opener was on Nov. 17, 2004 at No. 2 Wake Forest, coached by the late Skip Prosser, in the Preseason NIT at Winston-Salem, NC.

• The GW-BU series is relatively young dating back just seven years to the 2001-02 season.

• BU defeated GW in the most recent meeting last Dec. 13 at BU's Events Center (71-59).

• BU is coming off a 80-62 victory over DII Mansfield in its season-opener Monday at Vestal, NY.

• Tonight's contest is the second of four games against teams from the America East Conference (Boston U., Binghamton, UMBC, Vermont).

• BU is picked to finish 5th in the nine-team America East Conference in the league's Preseason Coaches' Poll announced Oct. 24.

• Tonight's coaches know each other well. Binghamton's Kevin Broadus was among the first assistant coaches Hobbs hired after taking the GW job in 2001. Broadus was an assistant coach at GW for three seasons from 2001-02 through 2003-04.

• GW has won 55 of its last 81 regular-season games and 32 of its last 48 A-10 games.

A Closer Look at Binghamton: Binghamton enters play Wednesday with a 1-0 record under second-year head coach Kevin Broadus. Broadus is a former assistant coach at GW under Karl Hobbs. The Bearcats were predicted to place 5th in the 9-team America East in the preseason coaches' poll announced Oct. 24. BU lost three starters from last year's team in Richard Forbes, Lazar Trifunovic and Mike Gordon who combined for nearly 38 points a game last year. Binghamton opened the season with a 80-62 victory over Div. II Mansfield Monday night. BU's DJ Rivera led all players with a 28-point, 10-rebound double-double. He was one of four Bearcats in double figures including fellow former A-10 player, Emanuel `Tiki' Mayben who added 16 points. Mansfield shot just 35 percent from the floor and was outrebounded, 42-37, by the Bearcats. Binghamton has an enrollment of 14,368 students and is located near the New York-Pennsylvania border in the central part of New York state.

Next Game: GW travels to Auburn this Saturday, Nov. 22, to face the Tigers in a rematch of last year's BB&T Classic game at Verizon Center. The game tips off at 2:00 p.m. (EST) and will be broadcast live on Federal News Radio 1500 AM, 820 AM as well as www.GWsports.com.
