WASHINGTON, DC -- George Washington's Lasan Kromah has been named the Atlantic 10 Conference Rookie of the Week for men's basketball the league office announced Sunday. It marks Kromah's first A-10 weekly honor and the first weekly Rookie honor for a Colonial since Damian Hollis won the award on Mar. 4, 2007. Kromah shares this week's honor with Saint Joseph's Carl Jones.

Kromah averaged 15.3 points and shot better than 53.6 percent from the field as GW posted a perfect 3-0 record in the season's first week. Saturday against UMBC, he scored his career-high 21 points on 7-10 shooting, including 6-9 from three-point range, in GW's 94-51 victory at Smith Center. He converted his first six shots Saturday and tallied all 21 points in just 18 minutes of playing time.

The 6-5 freshman guard from Greenbelt, MD (Eleanor Roosevelt H.S.), preceded that performance with a team-high 17-point effort in GW's 69-59 road victory over Boston University Tuesday in Boston.

Kromah's stats for the week: 3 games, 46 points on 15-28 FGs (.536), 10-19 3FGs (.526), 6-11 FTs (.545), 6 rebounds (4 offensive, 2 defensive), 6 assists, 7 steals, 4 turnovers and a block in 58 total minutes.

GW (3-0) next hosts Princeton (2-1) Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Charles E. Smith Center.
