Taylor was named the Most Valuable Player of the Progressive CBE Classic's Bowling Green Subregional as he led GW to three victories in as many days at the event. Taylor averaged 13.0 points on 52 percent shooting, including 7-of-10 from 3-point range, six assists, three rebounds and 1.3 steals in nearly 36 minutes over the three games.
He led all players with 22 points and six assists in Monday's opening 86-73 victory over Detroit, a contest in which he eclipsed the 1,000-point mark for his career. He was one of two GW players in double figures with 11 points in a 54-52 win over Ohio Valley Conference preseason favorite Austin Peay on Tuesday, but it was his steal on a 3-on-1 fast break with 12 seconds remaining that clinched the victory against the Governors. In the third game against host Bowling Green on Wednesday, Taylor scored six points, but dished out a game- and season-high nine assists to propel the Colonials to the 77-56 blowout of the Falcons.
