Wednesday's Game: GW (6-1) hosts Providence (6-3) in the final game of a five-game homestand and first visit from a Big East Conference team since the Friars' last visit almost nine years ago to the day on Dec. 11, 2000.
Wednesday's game marks the fourth meeting between the teams but first since 2006. It is the third game for Providence in the last five days.
GW is coming off a 81-69 victory over Navy on Sunday in the 15th Annual BB&T Classic at Verizon Center. Senior Damian Hollis netted a team-high 18 points on 7-14 FGs. Hollis is the A-10 co-Player of the Week for the week of Nov. 29-Dec. 5.
Providence is coming off a 78-62 victory over Brown Monday at PC's Dunkin' Donuts Center. PC Jamine Peterson led the Friars with a 22-point, 9-rebound effort against the Bears (4-7). Providence shot 38.6 percent from the field, 87.5 percent (7-8) from the line and dominated the boards, 56-38. The Friars also blocked 11 shots against Brown, three each by Bilal Dixon and Russ Permenter.
Wednesday's game will be Providence's second against an A-10 opponent in the last five days. The Friars lost at Rhode Island, 86-82, last Saturday at URI's Ryan Center in Kingston.
Providence is picked to finish 13th in the 16-team Big East Conference preseason poll of the League's coaches released Oct. 21.

The Friars bring a 6-3 record to Smith Center and are led by Jamine Peterson who is averaging a 17.6-point, 10.2-rebound double-double through nine games. Marshon Brooks contributes 15 points a game while Sharaud Curry's 30 assists and 85 percent free throw shooting lead the squad. As a team, Providence is averaging nearly 83 points per game while shooting 43 percent from the field, 34 percent from 3-point range and 68 percent from the line. PC has been strong on the boards with an +8.7 rebounding margin and averages 12.4 turnovers per outing through its first nine contests.
