GW's T.J. Thompson Named A-10 Rookie of the Week

WASHINGTON, DC (Dec. 3) - George Washington's T.J. Thompson (Germantown, MD/Newport School) has been named the Atlantic 10 Conference Rookie of the Week for men's basketball for the second straight week Dec. 2, the league has announced.

The 5-foot-11 freshman point guard won the honor based on his performance against Boston University Nov. 28. He scored 19 points on 6-for-13 FGs (.462) and 4-9 (.444) from 3-pt. range and was 3-4 from the line with six rebounds and six assists as GW defeated the Terriers, 79-76.

Thompson leads the Colonials in assists with 34 (4.3 apg) and minutes played 292 for an average of 36.5 minutes per game. He is averaging 12.4 points per game, second-highest on the team.

GW (5-3) plays Old Dominion (4-1) Wednesday, Dec. 5, at the ODU Fieldhouse in Norfolk, VA. Tipoff is at 7:35 p.m. and will be televised live by Comcast SportsNet throughout the mid-Atlantic region.
