NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- GW men's basketball forward Patrick Steeves has been named Atlantic 10 Co-Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.

Steeves starred for GW in a pair of wins over New Hampshire and Harvard, averaging 21.0 points, 8.0 rebounds and 4.5 assists. The sixth-year graduate student got his week started with a season-high 23 points, to go along with seven boards and five assists, as GW defeated UNH 68-64.

Then, facing Harvard, where Steeves completed his undergraduate education before transferring to GW, the Montreal native scored a game-high 19 points and grabbed a game- and season-high nine rebounds, to go along with four assists, two steals and a block in a complete effort that helped GW take a 58-48 win over the Crimson. His defense also helped limit Harvard to 48 points and .281 shooting, both season-lows for a GW opponent.

For the week, Steeves was efficient in totaling 42 points, connecting on 17-of-26 shots (.654). He leads the Colonials, and ranks sixth in the league, shooting .547 on the year. Steeves is the second Colonial to earn A-10 Player of the Week honors, after Yuta Watanabe was honored on Dec. 4. He shares the award with Jaylen Adams of St. Bonaventure.
