Tim Derdenger
![]()
Tim came to GW with a strong junior golf and high school golf resume. He had several top 20s in major national events, qualified for the 1997 Optimist International, and had top 10s in IJGT and FCWT events and the Arizona High School Championship. As an amateur Tim has played in the North-South Amateur in Pinehurst, NC. Tim, a Finance major, is a leader of GW's Student Athlete Advisory Committee and a Peer Athlete Leader for the Athletic Department. Tim's GW career has been hampered by several injuries but Tim should be 100% this spring for the first time in a while. Tim still ranks 10th all-time at GW with 57 starts and 21st all time in scoring average. He has been team medalist 13 times in his GW career, good for 16th on the all-time list. Tim won his first collegiate event shooting 74 to win the Wesley College Invitational. He finished 7th at the 1999 Atlantic 10 Conference Championship, shooting 72-78-75 and finished 2nd at the 1999 Scotty Duncan Memorial with rounds of 76-75. He also placed in the top 10 at the 1999 Caves Valley Invitational and the 2000 William & Mary-Kingsmill Invitational. Tim caddied for his sister (who played collegiate golf at the Universities of Arizona and Southern California) at the US Women's Open in Pinehurst.
