At GW:
Strongest player on the team, Permutter played five rounds in the fall and posted a 80.2 stroke average. Played 13 rounds as a junior in 2008-09 and posted a 251-235 head-to-head record with a 78.2 stroke average. Played in three events as a sophomore in 2007-08 shooting a season-low rd. of 76 in the first rd. of the Navy Spring Invitational. Placed third in the Rehoboth Beach Invitational, shooting 72-71 to lead his team to the title.

Junior, High School & Amateur Golf:
Perlmutter came to Foggy Bottom as one of the top prospects in the nation and the region. He was ranked the No. 49 prosepct in the class of 2006 by Golfweek and the 99th player overall in the same rankings when he committed to GW. He was named "All-Met" by the Washington Post in 2005 after winning the Washington Area Private Schools Championship under coach Jack Duquette at Landon. He finished second at the 2005 AJGA Rome Classic shooting 69-66-71. That same summer, Michael won the Dewey Rickets Cup and came from seven shots off the pace to win the Bubby Worsham Memorial.
