Junior, High School & Amateur Golf
Mirabella was Academic All-State in Michigan in 2001 and has amassed several top finishes in FCWT competition including a 7th at the Melrose Classic with 151. He also placed 16th at the World Junior Cup in Orlando, FL, shooting 154. Mirabella played in the 2003 Michigan Amateur. In the summer of 2004 he just missed qualifying for both the US Amateur Public Links and the US Amateur. At the Public Links qualifier he was the first alternate shooting 77-69. At the US Amateur qualifier, he used another final round charge and fell just short shooting 79-71
At GW To start his career as a Colonial, Mirabella posted a 16th place finish at the 2002 Rehoboth Beach Fall Invitational with rounds of 78-75. He added 79-77 to help the team to the title at the Lehigh-Don Mershon Classic. In the spring of 2003, Mirabella emerged as one of the team's steadiest players. He was named Atlantic 10 Conference Rookie of the Week in April of 2003 after shooting 72 in a tri-match with Iona and Colombia.
In the fall of 2003, Mirabella led GW on consecutive weeks, shooting 76-75 in a cold rain at the Temple Owl Invitational to place eighth and shooting 76-71 in more rain at the McDonald Cup at Yale Golf Course to finish 13th. Mirabella shot his career low 69 in the final round of the 2003 James Madison Invitational. In the spring of 2004 Mirabella was low man several times for the Colonials, including placing sixth at the Rehoboth Beach Invitational in Michigan-like conditions (cold, wind and sleet) with 75. His opening round 71 led him to a 150 total and a 12th place finish at the Princeton Invitational. In 2004-05 he placed 11th at the Bethany Beach Invitational and seventh at the Navy Invitational with 71-78.
Mirabella is a Business Major and team co-captain. He is a board member of the GW Student Athlete Advisory Committee and works diligently on the community service initiatives.
