GW Golf Remains in Sixth After 36 Holes of Harmony Preserve Intercollegiate

- The George Washington golf team remains in sixth place through Day 2 of the Harmony Preserve Intercollegiate on Tuesday.

The Colonials combined for a 36-hole score of 37-over 613 after carding a 19-over 307 through the second round at the par-72, 7,208-yard Harmony Golf preserve.

Austin Peay leads the six-team field with a 2-over 578 after shooting a 5-under 283 on Tuesday. Florida Atlantic is in second with a two-round score of 3-over 579 and host VCU is third with a 7-over 583. Florida Gulf Coast sits in fourth with a 14-over 590 and Villanova is in fifth with a 29-over 605.

After shooting a five-over 77 through Round 2 freshman Steve Piela is in a five-way tie for 14th place with a two-day total of 5-over 149. Sophomore Jack Persons, who shot a 7-over 79 on Monday, improved three spots to tie for 23rd after shooting an even-par 72 on Tuesday for a combined score of 7-over 151.

Rookie Howard Hickey sits in a tie for 28th with a 13-over 157 after shooting an 8-over 80 on Day 2, and junior Graham Lawyer shot a 13-over 85 on Tuesday for a combined 19-over 163.
