Missouri Takes Commanding Lead After Day 1 of GW Golf Invitational

BETHANY BEACH, DE - The Missouri Tigers have roared out to a commanding 23-stroke lead after Friday's first two rounds of the 54-hole George Washington Golf Invitational in Delaware. The Tigers combined to shoot a 550, led by Chris Johnson's 10-under 134 (66-68), one stroke ahead of teammate Stuart Ballingall's 135 (69-66). The GW B Team, led by senior Tyler Wendelken's one-over-par 145, are in fourth place trailing third-place Towson by nine strokes. Yale is in second place at 573. The GW A Team is in sixth place after the first two rounds led by Cole Turner's 149 (72-77). The third and final round will be played Saturday beginning at 8:30 a.m. EDT at the Bear Trap Dunes Golf Club in Bethany Beach, DE.
