Golf Wins GW Invitational

ISSUE, MD - The George Washington University golf team shot a two-round 596 (299-297) to win the seventh annual GW Golf Invitational Saturday and Sunday at the par-72, 6,761-yard Swan Point Country Club in Issue, MD. Defending tournament champion Princeton finished second in the 24-team tournament with a total 599 (299-300) followed by Temple with a 604 (306-298). Lehigh's Nam-Kyu Park won the tournament with a six-under-par 138 (67-71) followed by GW sophomore Brian Carroll (Crystal Lake, IL/Crystal Lake South) who carded an even-par 144 (71-73). Skidmore's Lee Lyon was third with a 146 (70-76). GW sophomore Dan Mirabella (Ann Arbor, MI/Saline) shot a 148 (76-72) to finish in a six-way tie for fifth place as did teammate Raman Luthra (East Amherst, NY/Nichols) who shot 72-76. GW's next competition takes place April 3-4 at the 36-hole Navy Spring Invitational in Annapolis, MD.
