Golf Places Second at GW Invitational

ISSUE, MD - GW's Thomas Blankvoort (Curacao, Netherlands) shot an even-par 72 in Sunday's first round of the GW Invitational and a 74 in the second round to place second, just one stroke behind Yale's Chris Eckerle at the 6,761-yard Swan Point Golf Club in Issue, MD.

Yale's 602 won the tournament with the host Colonials posting a 614 to finish second, 12 strokes off the pace.

GW sophomore Charles Taylor (St. Lambert, Quebec) finished in a four-way tie for 18th with a 156. Colonials' juniors Michael Ball (Potomac, MD) and Brad Friedlander (Baltimore, MD/Pikesville) were a stroke behind Taylor in a five-way tie for 22nd, each with 158.
