Round 1 Results

BUIES CREEK, N.C.  – The George Washington golf team is tied for fourth place through Round 1 of the Keith Hills Spring Intercollegiate at the par-71, 6,609-yard Keith Hills Country Club.

Due to rain overnight on Sunday and early Monday morning, the first 18 holes was delayed two hours until 11:00 a.m., forcing Round 2 to be suspended at 7:30 p.m. because of darkness. The second round will be completed on Tuesday morning and the final 18 holes of the 54-hole tournament will immediately follow.

GW is tied for fourth with Jacksonville University with a 13-over par 297 through Round 1. Host Campbell is tied for first with Gardner-Webb with a four-over 288 to pace the eight-team field, and the Camels’ Amanjyot Singh leads all 62 competitors with a 5-under 66.

Sophomore Jonathan Dresnick shot par on 16 holes and fired a team-best 1-over 72 in Round 1 to sit in a tie for eighth place. Freshman Carlos Pena follows Dresnick in a tie for 16th after carding a 2-over 73.

Sophomore Jack Persons and rookie Michael Helton are in a five-way tie for 33rd, each with a 5-over 76, and freshman Howard Hickey is tied for 42nd after shooing an 8-over 79.

Action concludes on Tuesday at 8:30 a.m.
