Golf Places Eighth at Navy Spring Invitational

ANNAPOLIS, MD - GW's Thomas Blankvoort (Curacao, Netherlands Antilles) shot an two-day 154 to place seventh in the Navy Spring Invitational Saturday and Sunday in Annapolis, MD. GW placed eighth with a team total 645 at the par-71, 6,611-yard Naval Academy Golf Course.

Minnesota (ranked 22nd by GolfWeek Magazine) totalled a 605 to win the tournament with the host Midshipmen posting a 614 to finish second, nine strokes off the pace. Minnesota's Simon Nash and David Morgan each shot a 150 to tie for the title.

Senior Bryan Derdenger (Scottsdale, AZ/Chaparral) carded a 161 (76-85) to tie for 30th and teammate Charles Taylor (St. Lambert, Quebec) was three strokes back with a 164 (85-79).
