BLOOMINGTON, IN -- George Washington's Brendan Barrack tied for 18th in the 78-player field after Sunday's final round of the adidas Hoosier Invitational men's golf tournament at the par 71, 6,813-yard Indiana University Golf Course in Bloomington, IN. The senior from Toronto, fired a three-round 218 that included a pair of one-under-par 70s in the first and third rounds. Barrack parred 37 of the 54 holes and finished nine strokes off the pace set by medalist Tyler Merkel (71-68-70) of Ball State. Merkel edged Indiana's David Erdy (68-70-72--210) by one stroke.

Host Indiana ran away from the field to win the 54-hole tournament with an even-par 852 to defeat runner-up Cleveland State by 15 strokes. The Colonials placed ninth in the 15-team field with an 882 (286-302-294), five strokes behind 8th-place Iowa State.

Barrack placed 14th at the 2009 Hoosier Invitational with a three-round 217 helping the Colonials to an 11th-place finish.

Colonials junior Martin Liu tied for 27th with an eight-over 221 (75-71-75) one stroke better than teammate Andres Pumariega's 222 (71-75-76). Liu's performance was seven strokes better than his 228 (78-74-76) two years ago in the same event.

The Colonials' next competition will be at the Century Intercollegiate on April 16-17 at Purchase, NY. GW will also send a B team to Navy's Spring Invitational, also on Saturday and Sunday, at Annapolis, MD.
