Golf Wins Bethany Beach Invitational

BETHANY BEACH, DE -- GW junior Brian Carroll (Crystal Lake, IL) shot a four-over-par 148 (72-76) to place second and lead GW to victory in the Bethany Beach Invitational Monday at the par-72, 6,834-yard Bear Trap Dunes Golf Course on the Delaware shore. The Colonials won the 12-team tournament with a team total 603, 13 strokes ahead of second-place American (616). It marked GW's second straight tournament victory after winning the Princeton Invitational over the weekend. Columbia's Joseph Kim carded a three-over-par 147 (72-75) to win the medalist honors, one stroke ahead of Carroll. GW sophomore Jack Tyler (Novi, MI) fired a 152 (77-75) to tie for fourth out of 59 individuals. GW's Andrew Gallo (Thornhill, Ontario/Crescent) placed seventh, a stroke behind Tyler, with a 153. Next up for the Colonials is the 36-hole Navy Spring Invitational, April 16-17, at the U.S. Naval Academy Golf Club in Annapolis, MD. Final Team Standings GW individual scores (59 total players):
