Golf Places Second at Rehoboth Beach Invitational

REHOBOTH BEACH, DE - GW freshman Brian Carroll (Crystal Lake, IL/Crystal Lake South) shot a two-over-par 146 to tie for second in the Rehoboth Beach Invitational Monday at the par-72, 6,664-yard Kings Creek Country Club on the Delaware shore. GW placed second in the 15-team field with a team total 616, seven strokes behind tournament champion Navy (609). Villanova's Henry Watson carded an even-par 144 to win the medalist honors, two strokes better than three others including Carroll. It marked the second tournament Carroll has finished in the top two as a freshman this season. He won the Lehigh tournament, Oct. 14-15, with a 147 (70-77).
Colonials' freshman Andrew Gallo (Thornhill, Ontario/The Crescent) tied for seventh with a 152 (74-78) while teammate Federico Guzman (Bogota, Colombia/Colegio Nueva Granada) shot a 153 (72-81) to tie for 10th place.
