Golf Places Eighth at Navy Fall Invitational

ANNAPOLIS, MD - GW's Andrew Gallo (Toronto, Ontario/Crescent) shot a two-day 147 to place 19th in the Navy Fall Invitational Saturday and Sunday in Annapolis, MD. GW placed eighth with a team total 605 (303-302) at the par-71, 6,611-yard Naval Academy Golf Course. Fellow GW freshman Federico Guzman (Bogota, Columbia/Colegio Nueva Granada) was one stroke behind Gallo with a 148 (74-74) to tie for 23rd. Junior Charles Taylor (St. Lambert, Quebec/Gov. Dummer) was three strokes behind Guzman with a 151 (75-76) in a three-way tie for 32nd. Winthrop totalled a 575 (285-290) to win the tournament with the host Midshipmen and Towson posting a pair of 577s to tied for second place. Towson's Billy Wingerd (67-70) and Navy's Billy Hurley (70-67) tied for first each with a five-under-par 137.
