Golf Places Seventh at James Madison Invitational

HARRISONBURG, VA - GW freshman Jack Tyler (Novi, MI/Novi H.S.) shot an even-par 213 (73-68-72) to tie for ninth in the 30th annual James Madison Invitational Sunday and Monday in Harrisonburg, VA. GW placed seventh with an 863 (296-281-286) after totalling a team-record 281 in the second round at the par-71, 6,496-yard Lakeview Golf Course. GW improved from 18th place at the same event last year. This year's event was moved back a day due to Hurricane Isabel. Georgetown University defeated James Madison by one stroke to win the tournament. Junior Brent Pittman of Rutgers won the individual crown carding a 69-69-66-204. Sophomore Andrew Gallo (Toronto, Ontario/Crescent) tied for 22nd with a four-over-par 217. Junior Brandon Muir (Tucson, AZ/Canyon del Oro) closed out the tournament with a 70 to tie for 35th.
