MEN'S COLLEGE GOLF HARRISONBURG, VA (Sept. 23) - GW's Thomas Blankvoort carded a one-over-par 143 to tie for 15th place in the 36-hole James Madison Invitational at par-71, 6,496-yard Lakeview Golf Course in Harrisonburg, VA. Blankvoort's 143 (72-71) placed him in a seven-way tie for 15th place among 123 golfers, Saturday and Sunday. The graduate student from Curacao, Netherlands, was the low Colonial for the second straight tournament.

As a team, the Colonials placed 16th (303-295-598) in the 24-team field. GW was 36 strokes off the pace set by St. John's 562. Penn State was second with 564. St. John's John DeForest won the tournament with a seven-under 135.

Junior Michael Ball (Potomac, MD) was the second-lowest Colonial as he tied for 80th with a two-round total 152 (79-73).
