GW Golf in Seventh of 16 Teams Through Two Rounds at Hartford Hawk Invite
Sept. 24, 2012 Rounds One & Two Individual Standings | Rounds One & Two Team Standings Host Hartford leads the 16-team field with a 36-hole score of 8-over 584, nine strokes ahead of fellow Atlantic 10 member Rhode Island in second with a 17-over 593. Boston College is in third with a 22-over 598, Connecticut sits in fourth with a two-round score of 24-over 600, followed by league member Temple in fifth with a 26-over 602 and Rutgers in sixth with a 27-over 602. The Hawks' Patrick Ross and the Owls' Brandon Matthews are tied for medalist honors with 2-over 142. Freshman Carlos Pena paces GW in his first career event after firing a 4-over 148 to hold a tie for 11th out of 88 golfers. Pena carded 5-over 77 through Round One, but came back in the final 18 holes with a 1-under 71. Junior Graham Lawyer sits in a tie for 20th with a two-round score of 7-over 151 and sophomore Jack Persons is tied for 32nd with a score of 10-over 154. Sophomore Jonathan Dresnick is tied for 39th, just one stroke behind Persons with a score of 11-over 155. The Colonials will play the final 18 holes of the Hartford Hawk Invitational on Tuesday morning.
