Golf Places Fourth at Temple Invitational

MOOSIC, PA - The GW golf team shot a combined 618 to place fourth at the 13-team Temple Invitational, played October 3-4 at the par-71, 6,693-yard Glenmaura National Golf Club near Scranton, PA. GW sophomore Dan Mirabella (Ann Arbor, MI/Saline) was the low Colonials with a 151 (76-75) to tie for eighth place.

Penn State, with a two-round 597 (293-304), captured the team title. The Nittany Lions out-distanced second place Rutgers (296-311-607) by 10 strokes. Rutgers' Brent Pitman, who entered the final round tied for third place, shot a 72 on Saturday to take home the individual title with a one-over-par 143 (71-72). Princeton's Jason Gerken, who was tied with Pitman, finished one-stroke behind with a 144 performance (71-73).

GW sophomore Andrew Gallo (Thornhill, Ontario/The Crescent) tied for 17th place with a 156 (74-82). Gallo came into the Temple Invitational fresh off his individual victory at last Monday's Rehoboth Beach Fall Invitational.
