Golf Places 11th at Yale MacDonald Cup

NEW HAVEN, CT - GW sophomore Dan Mirabella (Ann Arbor, MI/Saline) carded a seven-over-par 147 to tie for 13th at the Yale MacDonald Cup Saturday and Sunday at the par-70, 6,622-yard Yale University Course in New Haven, CT. The event was shortened to two rounds due to inclement weather. The Colonials placed 11th in the 18-team field with a 36-hole total 602. Penn State won the MacDonald Cup with a 573 and the Nittany Lions' Mark Leon was the individual winner with a one-under 139 (67-72). The Colonials finished ahead of James Madison for the first time since the 1973. Andrew Gallo (Thornhill, Ontario/Crescent) fired an 11-over 151 (73-78) to tie 39th. Gallo was the next lowest Colonial after Mirabella on the penal course which features two holes that have been ranked among the 100 most difficult holes by Golf Magazine.
