Pumariega Leads GW Golf at Donald Ross Intercollegiate
Senior Pumariega Fires Back-to-Back 2-Over Par Rounds, Sits Tied for 12th

MORGANTON, N.C. – Senior Andres Pumariega sits tied for 12th-place individually to pace the George Washington men’s golf team through two rounds Monday at the Donald Ross Intercollegiate, hosted by Appalachian State.
GW ranks eighth out of 11 teams with a total team score of 21-over 595. Pumariega fired an 2-over par 144 over two rounds, while classmate Martin Liu is tied for 18th just one stroke behind with a two-round 3-over 145.
The Colonials are competing against the host Mountaineers, as well as Gardner-Webb, High Point, Lynn, UMES, Presbyterian, Radford, Stetson, Elon and Western Carolina at the par-70, 6,540-yard course at Mimosa Hills Golf and Country Club.
Pumariega shot 2-over par 72 in both rounds Monday for a total of 144, while Liu fired an opening round even-under 70, followed by a 5-over 75 in the second round. Senior Taylor Fuqua sits in a tie for 34th after shooting 9-over 151 with rounds of 75 and 76.
GW returns to the Mimosa Hills Golf Course on Tuesday morning for third-round action at the Donald Ross Intercollegiate.
