BURLINGTON, N.C. -- GW sophomore Logan Lowe recorded the best finish of his collegiate career with a T-6th showing at the Elon Phoenix Invitational, which concluded on Tuesday at Alamance Country Club.

Lowe shot a 6-under 207 in the 54-hole event, closing with a 74 on Tuesday after rounds of 67 and 66 on Monday. The T-6th result improves upon his previous career best of T-7th, which he achieved at the season-opening Marshall Invitational.

"It was a very up-and-down day, not just for Logan but the whole team," said head coach Chuck Scheinost. "Logan had a rough start but I'm very proud of the way he bounced back with a birdie and eagle on his eighth and ninth holes of the day to give himself a shot down the stretch. He'll learn from this experience and I think he'll get his first collegiate victory in the near future."

Eric Edwards of George Mason, Jose Montano of North Carolina and Jake Leavitt of Elon tied for the individual title by finishing 10-under par. Gardner-Webb took the team title with a score of 22-under, 18 shots clear of second place Loyola.

GW was tied for 12th with an 11-over par 863 (288-288-287). On Tuesday, junior Vince Palazzolo turned in his best round of the tournament with a 1-under 70, as did senior Lucas Farmer (even par 71) and redshirt junior Christian Cichan (1-over 72). Palazzolo finished T-36th, Cichan T-51st and Farmer T-63rd, while senior Michael Heda was T-81st.

"As a team, it was up-and-down but we showed what we are capable of with a stretch of golf in the middle of the day that got us up to seventh or eighth on the leaderboard, before we slipped back down right at the end. They really showed the golf they're capable of playing, hitting phenomenal shots for birdie opportunities and making those putts. I was pleased seeing that and it gave us all hope that we're getting close to being the team we want to be."
